Here's why: On page 12-8 there is a "fish story" - a joke, of sorts, that, when read (or told) in the last minutes of the lesson is both funny and powerful! BUT, you don't want to let the cat out of the bag by letting your people read it ahead of time. SO... print Lesson 12 SANS the fish story. Then print copies of pages 12-7 / 12-8 to hand out when you teach the lesson. Complicated? Nope. Trust me. It's DUCK SOUP if I've pulled it off a half-dozen times! APPENDIXES - ver. 14 Feb 2010 NOTE: IF YOUR MONITOR does not display the pages as per the images below, you will mangle my beautiful manual and I will be forced to tweak your nose to avenge my tarnished honour (honor to you Yanks). PLEASE avoid this sort of confrontation by downloading and installing these two fonts IF they're not already on your Windows system. Thanks! BODNOFFN.TTF (a lovely fat old 1930s type font) propely displayed as (enlarged) G4L page numbers. IMPORTANT INFORMATION RE: DOWLOADING AND PRINTING THESE FILES PRINTING TIP: To print a complete lesson - collated and ready for punching: 1. Select: print "All pages", "Auto rotate & center", and "Collate". 2. First print "EVEN PAGES ONLY" - as many copies as you want. (I usually limit myself to ten copies at a shot in case there's a misfeed which could ruin the lot.) 3. Reinsert the stack in your printer (oriented properly to print the opposite side of the page) and print "ODD PAGES ONLY". VOILA'! Now you have 10 collated lessons ready for punching. RING BINDERS: UK - We use the Staples presentation 4-ring binder in white/black - Item 390807. It has a window for the G4L title page on front - and a clear window for the person's name on the spine. Lovely! USA - Use a 3-ring binder (if you can't find 4-ring). We've learned not to skimp on quality. If your materials LOOK nice, people will take them seriously. If they look like rubbish, they'll treat them accordingly. INDEXED DIVIDERS - Buy the sets of 12 dividers for each manual. Put the Introduction before the 1st divider and it works out perfectly. Without dividers, neither you nor your disciples will be able to find your place, and when reference to a previous lesson is called, you'll be lost. (Don't ask me how I know this.) EACH WEEK, HAND OUT THE LESSON FOR THE FOLLOWING WEEK. Assign at least the opening article (the lesson teaser) and if there's homework, be sure to make the assignment clear. Review the homework at the BEGINNING of each class session or you may forget and the class will cease to take your assignments seriously. (Don't ask me how I know this either!) QUESTIONS?
